First Commercial Tenant Officially Announced for The Pearl

The Pearl

The Pearl, a mixed-use facility located in the heart of downtown Fort Wayne, welcomes Ducky’s at the Pearl as one of its first official commercial tenant.

Ducky’s is a family friendly, full-service restaurant featuring duckpin bowling. It’s the latest venture of local restaurateurs Johnny Perez and Esli Barrón Perez of Te Gustó Hospitality. Te Gustó is the parent company of Cali-Mexican restaurant Mercado on the Landing, Papi’s Pizza, and Spoke & Ivy.

At Ducky’s, guests can enjoy signature American staples like smash burgers and spicy chicken strips, as well as tropical cocktails and other more unique menu items, like duck carnitas nachos and fun tiki cocktails.

“I was searching for a space in the center of Fort Wayne’s growing downtown,” said Perez. “And The Pearl I see as a symbol of that growth. It’s the right caliber space to host a brand like ours. I think this partnership will be great for the community.”

Ducky’s is expected to open in October of this year. Perez said he saw a need for more downtown attractions which could be enjoyable, not just for kids or just for adults, but for everyone.

“When it gets cold out, your options for indoor entertainment are limited. Duckpin bowling is our answer to that,” he said. “We actually had this idea for a downtown duckpin bowling alley several years ago, but we couldn’t find the right space for it until we found The Pearl.”

The Pearl, which is still under construction at 248 W. Main Street, is the passion project of local visionaries Chuck and Lisa Surack.

“I am immensely proud of the work that’s been done so far,” said Chuck Surack. “The Pearl is shaping up to be an absolutely beautiful building that will decorate Fort Wayne’s skyline for decades to come. Ducky’s is a perfect fit for Lisa and I’s vision for the building: to be a space of community and belonging for residents and visitors alike.”

In addition to the 12,000 square feet of commercial space, The Pearl also boasts 76 apartments, five live-work units, a 300-person event space, and dozens of amenities, including a fitness center, green space, a six-hole miniature golf course, and more.

Also sharing that commercial space, a new Crescendo Coffee & More location, which will be known as Crescendo Coffee & Café. Surack Enterprises is finalizing details for one more commercial tenant, which will be announced soon. Several live-work units are still available for leasing, offering tenants the unparalleled convenience and flexibility of living right above their workspace.
