Amoré – Italian, Steak & Seafood Now Open
Amoré – Italian, Steak & Seafood, a new, elevated dining experience in downtown Fort Wayne, is now officially open and ready to welcome the public.
Located at 239 Pearl Street, Amoré will be the second commercial tenant to open its doors at The Pearl, with Crescendo Coffee & Café now open and Ducky’s at the Pearl opening early next year.
After an extensive talent search, Amoré – Italian, Steak & Seafood management recruited Executive Chef Kyle Mares to lead the culinary team. Mares attended culinary school at Johnson & Wales University and worked under Chef Michael Chiarello at Bottega in Napa Valley, CA. He had previously spent a decade traveling the world, sampling different cuisines, and developing his finely tuned palate. During his trek through Europe, Mares quickly grew to appreciate the Italian obsession with locally sourced food and exquisite presentation.
“I most recently called the San Francisco Bay area home, but I’m a native to the Midwest,” said Mares. “During a visit to Indiana, I rediscovered the quality, variety, and overall charm found at a Hoosier farmers’ market, and I knew Fort Wayne was a place I could proudly put down roots.”
Using only the best, market-fresh ingredients, Mares and the Amoré culinary team have cultivated an exquisite menu composed of authentic Italian cuisine, premium steakhouse cuts, and a superior seafood selection.
A diverse array of beers, wines, hand-crafted cocktails, and alcohol-free cocktails have also been selected to perfectly complement Amoré’s food menu. The frequently updated wine list will highlight Italian and American wineries, with additional wine brought in from other regions to round out the world-class selection.
More than 40 employees have accepted offers and begun training for opening day, making good on a promise by Chuck and Lisa Surack to bring dozens of high-quality jobs to downtown Fort Wayne. Several Amoré managers completed training through The Court of Master Sommeliers to better serve customers.
The Amoré team proudly embraces the signature Surack motivation to ‘always do the right thing.’ From the first impression to the last bite, every server, host, chef, and sommelier chooses to approach each customer interaction as an opportunity to impress.
Amoré – Italian, Steak & Seafood will be open for lunch and dinner six days a week, with plans to extend business hours to include Sundays in early 2025. The 5,150 square foot space seats up to 164 guests inside, including 14 bar-top seats. The dining room features 18’-4” ceilings with floor-to-ceiling wine displays and windows, offering a beautiful view out onto Pearl Street and Maiden Lane. An Al Fresco dining space will allow for an additional 32 seats outdoors.
The highlight of the space will be the elegant old-world-inspired Private Dining Space. Every detail contributes to its old-world charm. Guests enter onto a herringbone-patterned brick floor, where accent-lit walls, rough-sawn wood ceilings, and luxurious drapery add to the room’s rustic, but refined character. The space also includes a complete AV setup with speakers and a TV monitor. With personalized seating for up to 49 people, the Private Dining Space offers flexibility in layout, allowing hosts to adjust the seating configuration to suit a gathering’s unique requirements, whether it be a birthday, anniversary, wedding, or family reunion.
